When circumstances begin to move against you, how do you determine
whether or not it is the Lord refusing to supporting you (cause you are on the wrong path) or the devil
pushing against you (because you are on the right path)?

You can not look at the circumstances and determine by the circumstances alone.
Circumstances only offer us the ‘red flag’ of a broken harmony in spiritual matters.
The ‘yes’ or ‘no’ of a matter is determined within our hearts and spirits. The Holy Spirit is our umpire.

Often we become accustomed to the everyday circumstances thrashing the Lord’s
will for our lives. We become insensitive to the ‘wrongs’ that are happening to us.
We find ourselves reasoning within our intellect that our circumstances can not be
changed, often because there are others involved. We know we can not control people, for
God has given each man a free will to make his/her own choices.

But… we can not allow ourselves to get caught up in the flow of circumstances and be taken for a ride.
We might tell ourselves we can not change the circumstances, but we can.
Psalms 23 says, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”
Psalms 91 says, “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near
your dwelling.”

Those verses do NOT say: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall be in an accident. Nor can we say, “Evil befalls one in a thousand, and that one is me.”

The Word of God becomes our plumb line. It becomes the ‘truth’ to our lives, and
all else are lies. They show us how we should be living.
